People’s Hospital of Kunming
Hospital Overview
The First People’s Hospital of Yunnan Province, also known as Kunhua Hospital, is a major tertiary general hospital in Kunming, China. Established in April 1939, it integrates medical treatment, education, research, emergency rescue, rehabilitation, preventive healthcare, and international medical services.
The hospital operates 3,570 beds and provides millions of outpatient and inpatient services annually. Its medical teams manage common diseases, chronic conditions, complex disorders, serious emergencies, and critically ill patients.
It is home to Yunnan Province’s National Emergency Medical Rescue Team and functions as a medical-technology training base serving South and Southeast Asia. The hospital has also been designated as a National Regional Respiratory Medical Center and as a pilot institution for integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
Its International Medical Department provides specialist matching, multidisciplinary consultation, bilingual coordination, treatment scheduling, privacy protection, rehabilitation planning, and follow-up services for international patients.
Cikitsa International supports Bangladeshi patients with report submission, specialist consultation arrangements, treatment-plan requests, hospital admission, communication assistance, and travel coordination for treatment in China.
Why Choose People’s Hospital of Kunming
The hospital has extensive clinical resources, including thousands of doctors, nurses, researchers, professors, and other healthcare professionals. Its departments cover the complete treatment process, from screening and diagnosis to surgery, medical treatment, critical care, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up.
The hospital maintains nearly 18,000 sets of medical equipment. Its diagnostic technology includes photon-counting CT, 5.0-tesla and 3.0-tesla MRI, PET-CT, digital X-ray, angiography, and advanced ultrasound systems.
Treatment facilities include linear accelerators for cancer radiotherapy and Da Vinci robotic systems for minimally invasive procedures in urology, general surgery, and gynaecology. Automated laboratory systems allow many test results to be produced within one or two hours.
International patients can be matched with experienced specialists and multidisciplinary teams. Where appropriate, treatment plans may also involve rehabilitation, nutrition, psychological support, and integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
Bilingual personnel help international patients communicate with the clinical team, coordinate appointments, understand the treatment process, and receive Chinese-English medical summaries and billing documents after treatment.
